There is not much about 'church folk' that inspires me any more. It seems "....they have turned everyone to their own way..." And frankly, most of them I am embarrassed to even know. But recently,,, I had the privilege of hearing Sister Vesta Mangun speaking.. And it happened to be THIS particular message on intercessory prayer .. and I was completely floored and blown away. It was like the lights went out and the rockets went up! I cannot remember a time in many YEARS that any speaker, let alone one in a church setting, caused me to STOP in my tracks and listen.. learn .. and absorb. There's a power and intensity here that clearly does not come from her, but THROUGH her. And if it is so, that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, then this is truly a woman who doesn't just do.. but IS... the real deal. Her Living Sacrifice, her testimony... have impressed me beyond understanding. And for whatever reason, I'm glad our paths crossed one day. And hearing her present this Truth, THEE truth, in such an articulate, passionate, intelligent and loving way truly fulfils my quota for 'pleasant surprises' for the remainder of the year - and it's only May! (It has definitely gotten me to thinking…) God bless you, Sister Mangun - you have earned a place of honor among the saints.
